Long
Ali Eslami is a research scientist. For twelve years Ali was at Google DeepMind, most recently as a Distinguished Research Scientist working on recursive self-improvement for Gemini. Ali co-founded the Gemini Prototyping team and built the prototypes that led to AI Mode in Google Search and to Generative UI. Earlier, Ali led DeepMind’s DLX team, working on generative models, self-supervised learning and multimodal language models, and its Quantum Chemistry and Materials team. Ali’s research includes the Generative Query Network, published in Science, and Attend, Infer, Repeat.
Before Google, Ali was a postdoctoral researcher at Microsoft Research Cambridge, and received a PhD from the University of Edinburgh.
